Solar carports

Solar carports that shelter vehicles and generate power.

A solar carport combines a canopy over the car park with on-site solar generation. Structure, layout and scope are adapted to your site.

Parking space that does more

Large car parks are rarely used for energy. A solar carport shades and shelters vehicles and generates electricity for the building or for EV charging.

How well the canopy protects against rain and snow depends on the chosen roofing system. The solar panels themselves should not automatically be treated as a watertight roof — sealing and drainage are chosen as needed.

Configurations

Single row

One row of spaces under a canopy, for example along a façade or boundary.

Double row

Two rows sharing a frame, often efficient on open car parks.

Custom layout

Designed for an existing car park around driving lanes, services and clearances.

Add-ons

Provision for charging, lighting and drainage integrated in the structure.

Materials and dimensions

Structures can be built in steel, cold-formed steel profiles or glulam timber depending on span, appearance and conditions.

We do not publish a fixed catalogue. Dimensions, number of supports, spans and output are determined after a site assessment.

What we take into account

  • Snow and wind loads
  • Geotechnics and foundations
  • Clearances and driving lanes
  • Existing underground services
  • Car park accessibility
  • Operation and maintenance
  • Drainage
  • Shading
  • Fire safety
  • Electrical connection

Possible scopes

The division of responsibility is set out in the proposal.

  1. 01

    Structure and installation

Steel frame with foundations, supplied and installed.

  2. 02

    Carport with integrated solar

Structure, canopy and integration of solar panels.

  3. 03

    Complete project

A full installation with electrical work carried out by qualified specialists in a coordinated scope.

Charging under the canopy

Charge points can be planned from the start so that cable routes and fixings are built into the structure.

Suitability for a given snow zone or site is always assessed for the individual project.

Location, approximate number of spaces and whether you want charging is enough to start.
